Hiking Kritsa gorge

Hiking through Kritsa gorge

Kritsa is one of the largest villages in Crete, located in the province of Lasithi. It is built at the foot of Mount Kastellos at an altitude of 330-365 m above sea level. The village has about 1,300 inhabitants (2011). It is located 9 km from Agios Nikolaos and is famous for preserving traditional architecture and the Cretan way of life.

A nice, short hike. Starting from the traditional village of Kritsa, we will walk through the gorge. We will turn into the village along the old road that once connected the old town of Lato with its port in the Agios Nikolaos area.

The hike lasts about 2 hours (4 km) and is suitable for families!
