The E4 is one of the European long-distance paths. Starting at Tarifa Andalusia, located at the southernmost end of the Iberian Peninsula, across the Strait of Gibraltar facing Morocco, it continues through Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece to end in Cyprus.
On Crete, the E4 is marked by the European Ramblers Association and crosses the island from the west (Kissamos) to east (Zakros), after crossing all major Mountain Ranges in Crete (White Mountains, Kedros, Ida Range, Dikti, and Thripti). Hikers have the opportunity to explore a vast array of diverse landscapes. To walk along the coastal trails beside the Sea of Libya or on the high desert of the Leftka Ori (White Mountains), Psiloritis (Ida), and Dikti mountain ranges!
